*Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is normally produced by the body; it is what gives skin its volume and fullness. Hyaluronic acid also decreases as we age.  Skin starts losing hyaluronic acid as early as age 18, but wrinkles and other skin damage from hyaluronic acid loss don’t generally show up until the late 30′s or early 40′s.  Hyaluronic acid has many important functions, including holding in moisture, providing cushioning, aiding in tissue repair, holding together the skin structural components (collagen and elastin), and helping create a protective barrier against microorganisms.  It is also one of the most powerful humectants known–it provides smoothness & softness to the skin, excellent anti-wrinkle effects, soothes irritated skin and is an ideal ingredient after facial peelings. 

*Moringa Seed oil has been held in high regard since antiquity. Pharaohs of Egypt included vials of Moringa oil in their tombs. *Argan oil is extracted from the nut of fruits from the argan tree, exclusively found in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains in the southwestern region of Morocco, Africa. It contains high levels of essential fatty acids and vitamin E, an antioxidant that protects skin against free radicals, molecules that damage cells in the body which leads to disease.  The antioxidants in argan oil can also be helpful for people with skin conditions such as eczema.  It absorbs easily and is non-greasy and non-irritating, which makes it a great natural moisturiser, even for those with oily skin.

*Olive Squalane is the hydrogenated and more stable version of the compound squalene that is obtained from olive oil. The hydrogenation process makes squalane more shelf-stable than squalene and, therefore, easier to use in skin-care products.  Adult skin is lubricated and protected against external aggressors by the sebum our skin produces. In healthy skin, sebum contains 10-13% squalene. This level drops as we get older. Low levels of squalene lead to dryness and flaking of the skin, and increase the risk of bacterial and fungal infections--eczema and psoriasis are also linked to low levels of squalene.  Hydrated skin is healthy skin. So, when applied topically, squalane has tremendous benefits such as softer, smoother, plumper looking skin. On its own, squalene (or squalane) doesn’t feel greasy and acts like an emollient when applied to the skin.  Also, one research suggests that squalane is very unlikely to be an irritant, so it’s an attractive option for those with sensitive skin.
